What flowers cost in Dubai, honestly

Real price ranges for roses, peonies, tulips and rose boxes in Dubai, what drives the differences, and where the money actually goes.

The short answer

A quality hand-tied dozen roses in Dubai runs AED 200 to 280 including delivery-day arrangement and VAT. Twenty five stems sit around AED 350 to 420. Fifty stems reach AED 600 to 700, and a hundred-rose statement lands between AED 1,000 and 1,400. Boxed arrangements carry a premium for the structure and density: expect AED 400 to 600 for a hat box and AED 800 upwards for a premium rose box.

Why prices vary so much between shops

Three things move the number: stem origin, freshness logistics and how honest the photo is. Ecuadorian and Dutch stems cost more than local wholesale because the heads are bigger and last longer. Flowers arranged the morning of delivery cost more to operate than bouquets built two days ahead in a cold room. And a shop that photographs your actual arrangement before dispatch is spending time that a stock-photo operation does not.

Seasonal spikes

Valentine's week is the big one: red rose wholesale prices roughly double worldwide in early February, and Dubai retail follows. Mother's Day (March 21 in the UAE) and peony season create smaller waves. Ordering two or three days ahead of a peak locks the price and the stock.

What you should not pay for

Paying more does not always buy more flower. Watch for thin bouquets padded with filler greenery, 'luxury' labels on standard stems, and delivery fees stacked on top of already premium prices. A fair benchmark: delivery under AED 30, free above AED 300, and a photo of the real arrangement before it ships.
